The Silver Oval Belcher Chain is a doubled up classic chain necklace finished with a Rhodium plating. The necklace is made from Rhodium Plated 925 Sterling Silver and is hallmarked by the Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office verifying its quality.
A timeless classic, the Belcher chain was made famous in Britain in the 18th century. It was named after the Bare Knuckle Boxer Jem Belcher who was Champion of All England from 1800 to 1805. The chain is made from round or oval links which are then interlocked together. This variation is similar to a Trace chain, with faceted diamond cut links for enhanced light reflection. The shorter chain is 46cm while the longer chain is 47.5cm and is fastened with a Sterling Silver lobster clasp. The necklace is finished in a premium 14KT Gold plating that gives a highly reflective surface.
The Belcher Chain is a great every day piece for its simple look and versatility. As it is already a layered chain, it can be worn alone, or for a heavier style, wear it with a subtle pendant necklace like the Gold Focus Necklace. The Oval Belcher Chain is also available in Silver.
