Serge Meets Marc
MODEL: MARC LULOH
PHOTOGRAPHER: HANNAH MILES
We heard that you recently became a dad! Congratulations! What is the first thing you will teach your new daughter?
Thank you very very much! First of all is giving her all the love I have inside, that is all she needs at the moment. After that, the first thing I will teach her, is to love every living being in the world, to every tree, flower, animal, etc and to be kind to people. I want her to learn to love and respect everyone.
How were you scouted?
One of my best friends in Madrid introduced me to one of his friends in Madrid. He is a model and he proposed that I give it a try and invited me to go to his next test shoot. He told me the three best agencies in Spain to send my pictures to. I did, got signed and everything started!
Favorite place in London?
Holland park is a beautiful place to have a picnic or to meditate.
What do you do when you’re not modeling?
Now that I’m a father, my priority is to be there for my daughter. I also write about life experiences and things that I have learned to help others. I study nutrition and try to do all kind of sports to keep myself healthy and active.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I have always loved to dance. I did ballet when I was a child but fell in love with other sports and stopped dancing. Now every time I go to a concert, club or festival, I feel the pure joy of moving your body freely. I want to dedicate more time to dancing and develop this talent.
One of the bands I most listen to is Blackstreet. I’ve been listening to Montell Jordan a lot lately too. But I like all kind of music, from Alexander Desplat to Zatox…
Favourite piece of the Serge DeNimes collection?
The black crown cap. Reminds me of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Tell us something you’ve not told in an interview before…
I would love for people to see time as something cyclical instead of lineal. It makes me sad when people feel bad about their age. Age is just a number! We all live in the same moment of time, either we are 22, 32, 42… so what matters is what you make of your time from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep. For me, everyday is a new opportunity, a new birthday! Every day counts, so it doesn’t matter how old you are. What matters is what you make today and tomorrow will be another birthday, another day to enjoy, seize and live life to the fullest!
