Describe yourself using a lyric from a song.
‘Every test is a lesson, every lesson is a blessing if you chose to see the message’. Love that one because it sums life up. There’s good times and bad times and you can learn from them both.
How did you get your start in music?
After building and releasing music for a few years, I played a headline show in London that a management company came to. They liked what they saw and we had a few meetings after. Eventually they offered me a management contract and from then on things started to move in a great direction pretty rapidly.
Best gig you’ve ever done?
Probably playing the O2 Arena with Hillsong. 18,000 people and all of them vibing with you. There’s nothing quite like it. It’s such an iconic venue so was great to play there.
Favourite part of winter?
Having a great excuse to not go out! I like being at home when I’m not performing or recording so winter’s good because my friends don’t go out as much!
Have you got any exciting projects coming up?
I’ve just dropped a new album called Secret World. Pretty chuffed with it and it’s the best body of work I’ve released. Check it out!
Favourite holiday destination?
Gotta be the Maldives. I went there on honeymoon and it was sick. Great weather, great food, super chilled. Swam with sharks too which obviously was wicked.
Favourite spot in London?
Blackheath Common because there’s lots of cool little shops and restaurants or the Breakfast Club spot in Liverpool Street. The food is the best.
If you weren’t doing music what would you be doing instead?
I’d probably be working with young people. I’m passionate about people reaching their full potential and realising they’ve got purpose in life.
Which musician or band would you most like to work with?
At the moment it’s Tori Kelly. Her voice is something else and I love what she stands for.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Alive, doing what I love, and maybe with a couple of kids.
Favourite piece from the Serge DeNimes AW15 collection?
I love the grey tracksuit. It’s cool for comfort indoors and great to wear out too.
I couldn’t live without…
